OOTD-Day To Night & A Lil Effy Stonem Tutorial...

By Lucy Harbron - 19:55

SO!

I've been on the hunt for a smock dress that actually fits me for agesss and my mum came home one day with my dream in a bag, and it was only £10! GO MUM! So as I'm lacking in ideas and originality I thought I'd just show you how I style it from day to night, and throw in a lil effy from skins inspired tutorial for you!

Dress-Asda-£10

I plan on wearing this dress 24/7 as I love everything about it. The material is so lovely, the colour is super grungy and I like that, and its fits like a dream! Such a good bargain for £10!

Clinique gentle light powder

rimmel professional eyebrow pencil

I started off the day by applying my everyday makeup keeping it light and fresh faced with a subtle contour just to shape my face a little. When I wear dark colours I like to keep my face very light and almost dewy and the ysl foundation is perfect for that.

Collection "does it all" mascara
topshop cream blush in "flush"
topshop lipstick in "innocent"

Then extras I added for this look included a little blush just to add a rosy glow to my cheeks and also sculpt my face a little more. Then I applied lots of mascara to make my eyes look nice and big, then a nude/pink lipstick for a soft girly finish and added cuteness duh.

And that's basically the day look!

 On to the night!

I've been watching skins religiously and I'm in love with effy's look. Her hair, her clothes and her makeup are all so perfect and I've been try my hardest to recreate it and this is the best I can do!

I think it's nice to add a little extra for the night if you have a party or somewhere to go or just want to feel sassy! Whether it's eyeshadow or lipstick or whatever floats your boat its always nice to feel magical! So here's a quick little tutorial for an effy inspired smokey eye for you!

What you need-
A palette that include a range of black/grey colours (I have no idea where this one is from sorry)
a whole load of brushes (mine are cath kidston)
an angled brush (mine is H&M)
A really creamy eyeliner (mine is avon)
and a mascara (mines collection)
phewwww

First you want to cover your whole I lid in a shimmery nude colour to create a light base to soften the look a little.

Then using a black (matte or shimmery its up to you) smudge the colour into your crease and through your socket line gradually building up colour and winging it out and blending until you're happy.

Next use an angled brush and a matte black I eye shadow to loosely line my top lashes. Then use a creamy eye shadow to line your bottom lash line and waterline, and your tight line, then blend this to make it messier. After doing this go back in with your black eye shadow and make sure it's exactly how you want it. I also like to add a little bit of grey/silver shadow cause why not!

And that's about it!

I really like this look as its not too in your face or bold but just add a bit of depth to your night look! And honestly I'd probably wear this in the day as well so woo!

I think that's it! First ootd of 2014 ooo, what have you been wearing lately?!

Remember to follow me on twitter and instagram to keep up with my daily shenanigans!
Have a lovely lovely day
